I own a HDR-HC3E and have captured all my tapes using HDVSplit. I get m2t files which I can play on my computer using VLC, but I have not been able to make Media Player to view my videos.

I like to capture all my footage to harddrive using HDVSplit and be able to view it on my 50" plasma in the living room. If possible I would like to do this without having to re-encode to a different format. That takes time and possible introduces loss in quality. It would also take more harddrive space as I like to keep the native files for editing later with no quality loss.

I also tried to install HDTV Pump Filter 1.0.7 to see if I could play my files in Media Player, but no luck. I get some sound and a still picture every now and then, but it is useless.

If you have any suggestion I would appreciate it. Even if I can't use my native m2t files it would be of help if you tell me the best and most efficient workflow to get high quality playable files using server application as Windows Media Center or similar.

As far as I know the 360 can't handle m2t's directly. Also Media Center doesn't handle non wmv files vary well without registry hacking.

Your best bet would be to get tversity and stream them that way. I don't remember if you can stream unmodified m2t's directly. You may be forced to encode them to mp4 before streaming......
