Howdy
Well - I only got 2 questions regarding some camera technique I see every now and then in a movie but I don't know how they call it - if it even has a name.
First is a zoom in effect that is often used in some dramatic sequences, the camera zooms up in a guys face but with very slight yet obvious shaking...my guess is that without that shake it wouldnt have that same effect
Second is a effect I've seen in Scarface when Tony buys a Porsche 928 and then he walks out of the dealership, sit in his convertible, and camera zooms out, while he appears the same "distance" from the camera...
It looks somewhat confusing, I hope you know what I mean...and thanks to anybody that helps

The second effect was most famously used in vertigo, and is called a Dolly Zoom : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolly_zoom
You move the camera in the opposite direction to the zoom to maintain the main focal point in the same spot while the environment around them zooms.
The first was mots probably done originally by accident, as extreme closeups can often look unsteady, however with digital editing now it is easy to add a little shake any time you want. Tony Scott is one who likes this type of effect, as do all the current ex-music clip directors (Nispal, Aja et al)Read my blog here.

Wow...it looks somewhat disturbing
- is Hitchcock then the "originator" of this effect in some way? -
It was created for Hitchcock by a second unit cameraman to get an effect that Hitch had requested and been unable to create. I believe that Hitch had exprimented with various techniques, including a rubber negative or matte, before this was presented to him.
There is a very good paper on it here : http://www.brokenprojector.com/wordpress/?p=21 with a good explanation of how to create the effect yourself.Read my blog here.
