    Well, I finally break down and bought a 64GB SSD for my Aspire One netbook. I'd installed the drive, transfer the OS from the HD to the SSD, and updated the memory to the max.
    I would like to maximize the life expectancy of the new SSD by minimize the frequent writes to the new drive. Does anyone recall the command that allows you to transfer all those temporary writing to another location other than the folder in the C:\ drive in WindowXP ?
    I've already created a RAMdrive and I would like to place all the temporary writes to the RAMdrive. I'd know that all informations in the RAMdrive will be lost once the power is off. But it doesn't matter since I can copy the informations prior to shutting the computer down.

    Assuming XP (probably similar on Vista):

    * Right-click MY COMPUTER - PROPERTIES (or SYSTEM in Control Panel)
    * ADVANCED tab at top
    * ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES button at bottom
    * edit the TMP and TEMP variables in the SYSTEM VARIABLES box in lower part of window

    Hold "WIN", press "Pause/Break";

    tab "Advanced", click "Environment Variables";

    under "User variables", set both "TMP" and "TEMP" for the RAMdrive unit.

    Thanks guys!!! much appreciated.

    Got my Windows temp, IE temp files redirected. Disable the virtual mem swap file. I'm gonna see if I can run the modified Firefox exclusively on RAM next.
