    In VLC player one of the deinterlacing options is 'Linear'. What exactly does it do for deinterlacing ? How does it work ?

    Bob with linear interpolation: instead of displaying each line twice, line 2 is created as the average of line 1 and 3, etc.

    Thanks for the link. Its useful.

    Although it wasn't quite clear what exactly is 'Disabled' ? Is it the same as Weave ? i.e. simply combine both fields together ? Or skip one field altogether ? i.e. display only one field and leave the other field blank in the frame.
