    Hi,
I hope most of you are familier with Hero3000 soft. I've already cut a .VOB file into 2/3 parts with hero (almost 50MB each). but, now I need to join them. But perhaps the format changed after cutt wityh hero. Coz when I try to join them as dvd movie file, then the 50MB convert to 400MB!!!.
I think, the tools I m using, is re encoding while joining.

So, is there any tools to join without re encoding - I mean without changing anything?

    Never heard of it.

VideoRedo and Womble Mpeg Video Wizard can join without re-encoding, but they are not free.

VOBs are not the best format to work with unless you know for certain what in in them. I suspect that these are no longer true VOB files, which will make it harder for anything to join them correctly. If they are rtue VOBs then you could try VOBMerge to join them without re-encoding.

    Hi Guns,
    OK, I am explaining:
At present I've some dvd5(4.37GB) disks & each of those disks, there are lots of songs. Total duration 8 hrs in 5 .VOB files in each. I don't know how it possible to write 8 hrs in 1 dvd5 disk!
I need to cut them for 2 reason.

    1) I'll cut some of my fav song contains in 1 .vob file & join & create new dvd.

    2) Almost for all disks, 1/2 .VOB file not running totally. I mean may be 1 specific .VOB (almost 2hrs duration) file runs for 1 hour. So, I need to cut some songs which are running.

Ok, then I've cut with Hero3000 (VCD/DVD editing soft & player). But when I want to join them as .VOB format, then files are expanding too much!!! But they were .VOB file in the disk & playing with dvd players like normal dvd movies.

But u know, if we convert a .VOB file with vob2mpeg & create new dvd with GFD, then no more expansion.
    Do you need further explanation?

--> I suspect that these are no longer true VOB files: Perhaps you r right. I think they are storing as moeg format after cutting. but why expanding as .VOB?

They are expanding because they are being re-encoded, which, as well as making the files larger, is also probably reducing the quality.

You can fit 8 hours onto one DVD5 by encoding the video at VCD resolution and VCD bitrates. You can probably edit the discs more easily using something like VOBBlanker, which will allow you to work within the structure you already have, without the need to re-encode.

    Hi Guns,
    Many Many THANKSSSS!!!

VOBMarge worked fine. It joined those files without encoding & store as .VOB file autometically.
