I have been learning via the forums and searching on these forums, but I still have a few questions.
Here is what I got. I have just filmed a wedding using a Canon HV30 @ 1440x1080. I have captured the video in Vegas and am editing the m2t files to clips in Premier Pro CS3. My desire is to output the clips to then author a DVD in Encore. My clients will be using a basic DVD player, which I assume only supports 720x540. Basically my question is, what are my options in terms of outputting these files for either greatest quality or medium quality if need be to keep file size down. Should I output all files to AVI or MPEG-2? What output settings should I be aware of? Any general help or direction pointing would be fantastic, thanks very much in advance and I apologize for my ignorance.

poor client. never experiment with paying customers, if you don't know how to do the job, don't take it.

It was a family wedding so no money involved, but thanks for your kind comments. If you have any real help I would greatly appreciate it...

if you have the cash for vegas, adobe cs3 and a canon hv30, then you can afford to send the tapes to someone who knows how to use them. ruining someone's wedding video is not something that i wish to help you with.

DVD max resolution is 720x480. See https://www.videohelp.com/dvd for format details and allowed bit rates.

CS3 should have Encore 720x480 DVD encoding presets. Use higher average bit rates (e.g. >8000 Kbps) for camcorder hand held footage.

Then don't help. First of all, the workstation I will be working on with Vegas & Premier is not my own. Second, the fact that you take time to comment on this thread with only childish responses instead of taking time to offer some kind of direction is self evident that you are of very little worth.

Anybody who wishes to offer some positive comments I would still greatly and humbly appreciate it. I am hoping for some knowledgeable help from those who obviously know more than I on this forum.

Thank you edDV, that was a ignorant error on my part. I do appreciate the info.
