A USB hard drive can work as long as it doesn't require too much power from the USB port. USB powered 3.5" drives may require too much power. USB powered 2.5" drives are usually ok. An externally powered 3.5" drive is fine. The drive must be FAT formatted. There is a limit to the number of files in a folder so don't put all your files in one folder.

Thanks for your info jagabo, I guess your answer would be the same with the DVP3560/7 which is more available in my area.
