I have a Blu-ray disc wlth extras that are VC-1, 23.97fps and 29.97fps. Both are 1920x1080. The 23fps files play fine with MPC and also using Avisynth but not the 29fps files. They will play using PowerDVD.

I would like to use Avisynth to convert to XVID.

    Any suggestions.... TIA

  2. What is different about the 29.97fps files (beside frame rate)? Try using mediainfo to find out more information

What decoder are you using to decode VC-1? WMV Decoder DMO or ffdshow or something else?

Mediainfo shows no difference except the framerate and progressive vs interlace. Audio is AC3 2ch.

MPC uses the same filters for both:
    Default DirectSound Device
    Video Renderer
    Audio Switcher
    DirectVobSub (auto-loading version)
    AC3 Audio Decoder
    ffdshow Video Vecoder

Has anyone been able to play VC-1 29fps with MPC and if so, what filters are used?

  4. Maybe try using the WMVideo Decoder DMO instead of ffdshow?

Tired WMVideo Decoder DMO and no joy, but...

I found other VC-1 (29.976 HD) files and they worked with ffdshow or WMVideo Decoder DMO and Avisynth with MPC. Medioinfo showed same specs except they were progressive.

Seems the problem is VC-1 interlace vs progressive.

  6. I can't say that I have ever seen an interlaced VC-1 extra. What title is that from?

You can probably get more help @Doom9, try this sub-forum for playback related issues

Two of the titles that have the interlaced extras are "Harry Potter and the oreder of the Phioenix" and "Shrek 3".

I'll check out the links you gave.
