Subtitle problem that fills screen with pink

Hi,

I have a strange problem with subtitles that I have never noticed before. Basically when subtitles appear on screen, the whole screen is covered in a pink color, this usually happens the exact time the subtitles occur. Only movie I have noticed any different is Wanted, where it happens a fraction of a second after the subtitles. It only happens in some movies, not all.

I am playing the DVDs from a PS3 and on a Sony Bravia LCD, I don't know if that have anything to do with the matter. It is worth mentioning that I usually edit the vertical position of the subtitles in DVDSubEdit.

When I play the DVDs on a PC with a PC monitor, I have no problems at all. Which leads me to believe it might be the monitor, which would seem strange, or some settings on either the monitor or PS3. However I am very puzzled by this problem and have no clue about what might be wrong.

Have anyone encountered this before? Or might know what is the cause of this?

Check the DVD playing on a friend's standalone player, do you get the same effect?

Does it happen with the untouched DVD (without editing the subs)?
