Hi,
I recorded a small video just to make my first test from TS to DVD.
My file is in Mpeg-2 720*576 16:9.
I cut the unwanted parts with tmpg mpeg editor. Then I try to author with tmpg dvd author 3 but it complains about a too high bitrate. 15000 kbps/sec.
My file is not in 15000 kbps, it's about 6000 kbps from a gspot scan. Only the system stream seems to be indicated to 15000 kbps. If I ignore the warning will my dvd be ok for playing in standalone player ?
If not, how can I correct that bitrate error ?

That 15000 by itself means nothing as it's just a number in the header. If the max bitrate is really 15000, then there might be a problem, but you won't know until authoring it if you'll get buffer underflows. My file is not in 15000 kbps, it's about 6000 kbps from a gspot scan. That number by itself won't keep it from being authored (although if you use TDA for authoring, it'll stupidly warn you), but if it won't author the only way to fix it is to reencode it, this time setting a more reasonable max bitrate. If not, how can I correct that bitrate error ?
You could change that 15000 number using ReStream, but it'll just be a pointless exercise as it has no bearing at all on whether or not it's DVD compliant. -
Thanks. Is there any other authoring program (free) which can tell me if I will receive buffer underflows ?

Muxman will test the actual values and report each buffer problem event happened during muxing, it also will not create ifo's in this case.Originally Posted by cd090580
If you want faster bitrate testing, run the files through DGIndex in preview mode, it will show current+maximum values. You can also use it for demuxing the stream before Muxman. -
Thanks.
I tested my file and it's in dvd specs.
