If XP is anything like 2K Pro, then just install it AFTER installing 98 (but you already have 98 installed, so just install XP) and XP should detect 98 and offer to setup a dual boot system automatically.

When installing XP, make sure NOT to install it to the same dir as 98 (to c:\windows for example). Install it to a DIFFERENT directory or you'll be asking for trouble (like c:\winxp or whatever its default is).

As for NTFS, the best you can do with 98 is READ NTFS, and then only with third-party software. You can't write to NTFS (atleast not the full 2TB file size) under 98. If you want to write to NTFS you'll need 2K or XP.

  5. if you have 2 partitions you might want to install xp on the second partiotion and convert that partition to ntsf. you won't be able to see it from win98 but the oposite isnt true. winxp still has alot of holes though so you might consider win2000 with service pack 2.
