Where to get free no catches screensavers ?

Does anyone know a reliable site to get free screensavers ?
My wife would like to get one of those flaming effect fireplace type ones.
I googled to try and find one but i dont know which sites to trust.

I don't know of a reliable site but you are wise to ask. Screensavers are one of the favorite ruses for purveyors of malware.

Well if you videotape one you can use the video as a screensaver. I beleive Vista does this out of the box, you need plugin for XP:

Screensavers don't really "save" screens anymore anyway. The best screensaver is to turn it off or let it go into power save mode.

6th has bunch of screensavers, among them a "Fireplace 3D.rar" containing Fireplace3D.scr - perhaps thats the one you ask about.
By searching for specific file type you simply eliminate any other (but you also limit the number of results of course, so I would repeat searches with compressed formats' filetypes as well - .zip and .rar).
However in this case the screensaver file type (.scr) is a container in itself, hence NO SITE is reliable for those. Even big and usually reliable websites can be infected and serving infected files (like disney's go website few years ago, sony's website, and many other).

You shouldn't be asking for "reliable websites" but you should have been using reliable antispyware and antivirus software if you are using Windows (FYI: there is only 1 antivirus that hasn't skipped a single virus ever yet - NOD32).

and as smurf said - screensavers on a modern LCD screen (or plasma) DON'T SAVE anything, they actually waste your monitor and your electricity.
