Hi all, I have a Asus U6V-A1 laptop running on XP, and the graphic card is Nvidia Geoforce 9300M GS with the latest driver installed. I tried to connect the laptop to my TV (42' Westinghouse 106.7 HDTV 1080P), however the TV screen constantly flickers! It will display properly for 2-3 seconds, then go black screen for half a sec, then flicker back on, then repeat the process. Any idea how to fix this? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried different resolutions, refresh rates and different output modes like clone, just hdmi output, etc?

  3. That might be an HDCP issue. Try the latest WHQL certified video drivers for your laptop.

Since the U6V only have Vista drivers and I've downgraded it to XP, I had to install the modded inf video drivers. After your suggestion that it might be a HDCP issue, i decided to install vista to another partition and try dual boot. Well the HDMI TV-out worked with Vista, so I might really have been a HDCP issue since the Vista had WHQL certified video drivers. But interestingly, after I installed Vista, even TV out from XP works fine too! However, when I TV out from Vista I get bot video and sound, but when I TV out from XP, I get video only. I have the driver for Nvidia HDMI installed on my XP and it runs fine when I play 1080p BDrips on my laptop. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

  5. Part of the HDCP spec is for the devices to monitor the connection and shut down if there is evidence of tampering. As I recall, some drivers were a little too sensitive to noise or low signal strength and would disconnect randomly. Maybe your original problem was related to this.

Regarding missing audio, does your laptop have native HDMI out or are you using a DVI to HDMI cable? There is an issue with Nvidia drivers and DVI to HDMI cables:
