  1. OK so I bought the Canon HV20

New to transfering video from the device to PC. My GA-K8N Pro-SLI F4 has firewire, but I simply assumed that this meant that I already had some sort of connector from the back. I guess I was mistaken?

So, as a newbie, what steps should I take? Do I have to buy a seperate card of some sort? Or should there have been something in my mobo box (Checked, but nothing there)...or what?? HELP!?!?!

  2. Looks like the firewire port is a header on the MB, you might have received a connector bracket in the box (it's on the options page). If not go to a computer store and buy one, would be cheaper than a PCI card.

it should have come with a back panel connector with ribbon cables attached that hooks up to the m.b. and goes into an empty slot cover.

    Miscellaneous
    Cables included 3 x IDE cable 1 x floppy cable 2 x Serial ATA cable 1 x USB / IEEE 1394 panel

if you don't have one you can get a front panel to go into a 3.5" bay that you can hook into the m.b. connectors. newegg has them.
