    I want to convert a bunch of .wmv files to .avi (my Philips 5982 DVD player doesn't support wmv). Is there a freeware app that can do this for me? If not, what is the best app to do this with (easiest to use)?

    WinFF, load all wmvs and convert to avi xvid with mp3.

    Okay, I'll try that one. I was using 'Quick Media Converter' for a few since my first post. Will QMC do a decent job too? Or is WinFF clearly a better option?

    I guess both are based on ffmpeg so you should get similar quality and encoding speed.
