ONKYO DV-SP502E - region free - how long to hold "enter" ?

I thought I was lucky to find a hack for my DVD-player.

Region code hack posted by mrspock, May 26 2007:
To make region-free: Hold enter on the remote until the player turns off.

I tried it several times and hold it at the end for app to 5 min but the player did not turn off. Is it poosilble that I have to hold it longer ?

Could be several things. You may have a newer version of the player that has an updated firmware which is locked to prevent this hack from working. Or you may have a player from a different region. Hack codes for models in different regions often don't work.
