Hi, im attempting to capture some gaming footage from playstation 3, but its harder than i thought.

The plan was to connect the playstation 3 HD tape recorder, and then work with it from there.

But the guy who helped me, said that the HDMI signal is copyprotected, and probably why we just get a balck screen when trying to record it.

    Does anyone have a trick?

Yes, HDMI is copy protected to prevent you from using it as a copy source.

You have to use some kind of analog source like composite/component/S-video. And note that some games output PAL60 signals in Europe and such signals may be impossible to capture with some devices.

    Oh damn..

..but you say theres a change using the component(rgb)?
(the problem is that the taperecorder cannot take component, maybe it can take composite(it should))

I didnt think i could use the composite (the yellow phono), can it pull HD?

    Any other suggestions?..

For future recordings..what hardware would be remendable..(thinking of the pal60 sissue)
