I'm trying to fix a friend's computer remotely and she has several of these Owner.YOUR-W04GTXLD67.010 users under her documents & settings folder which I guess have to do with previous restore points. Anyhow, there are masses of old IE cache files, etc in there. Does anyone know of a free tool that will erase all traces of IE temp crud across multiple user accounts?

if only it was that simple.. unfortunately those accounts are not listed in that area. I'm running a virus scan right now and all those files it tries to scan it says access denied.. Maybe I can do it from safe mode; haven't tried that yet..

Definitely try safe mode as administrator. Access denied usually means either the file is in use, or you don't have the correct credentials to access the file. In rare cases there's a file/folder that is either corrupt, contains non standard or too many characters. Running check disc should help as well. I've used CCLeaner a couple of times for various things. http://www.ccleaner.com/.Originally Posted by sdsumike619

Anymore, I only tell the customer to put what they want saved in their my documents folder. I back up this folder only, do a 3 pass wipe, and reinstall Windows. Most of the time you CAN clean a system. It just isn't worth my time, nor does anyone want to pay far price for such a job.

Using auto install scripts, and custom CDs, I can do a complete fully updated Windows rehash in less than 2 hours, with all necessary third party software/tools installed. It's taken me that long before just to scan for spyware on some PCs .

thanks, I used cccleaner but it's only for the active user account. I was able to dump all those thousands of files by taking ownership of the files so it's all good now =)
