    Hi,
I've demuxed only the subtitle from a dvd movie as .SUP format. I opened in subtitlecreator & change the color to white. But, after creating total movie using GFD, It's appearing in "Black" color!!!

I've tried 4/5 times changing different color with creator, but always displaying in Black. what's wrong?

Install vobsub and use subresync and on the left side you'll see the option "Edit," click that and you can change color/font/size etc. and "save as" .ass/.sub/.ssa etc.

But like I said before if it's .idx/.sub you gotta first convert it to another type of subtitle and then open the converted in order to edit.

    hi,
Actually I tried with vobsub->subrescync option, but it can't open the .sup format, so how can I edit???

If I need to convert it to another format, then how can I do that?

  4. You made a DVD and the subs are the wrong color, correct?

If so, there are 2 easy ways to change the colors to what you want, PGCEdit and DVDSubEdit. Since the DVDSubEdit way has a guide, I'll refer you to it:

    http://download.videohelp.com/DVDSubEdit/Guides/ChangingColors/Guide.htm

The PGCEdit way is even easier and faster. Open the DVD in PGCEdit, double-click on the movie, change the colors in the CLUT. The current colors are usually in the top row and you click on them and change them to whatever you like. OK back to the main screen, Save, and test it out.

    Hi manono,
Actually, I've separated subtitle of a movie using vobedit & it saved as .SUP format.
But that subtitle is displaying in white colors in the original dvd.
When I create that movie in GFD with that .SUP file, then it became black!
I've changed the color in subtitlecreator to white & test again, but still black color.
I don't understand why it in black???

And I want to know the total steps to convert .SUP tp .SRT format. I've searchrd in net, but thre are no useful soft for that.

So what? The SUP files don't carry the color information. The IFOs of the DVD do. So, if the SUP is meant for a DVD, change the colors after creating the DVD as I explained in my previous post. Unless your authoring program allows you to set the final colors. But I don't understand why this is such a big deal. It takes all of about a minute to fix them to whatever colors you like.
And I want to know the total steps to convert .SUP tp .SRT format.
You can't convert SUP directly to SRT. Well, you can, in DVDSubEdit which has an automatic OCR. But it's not all that good in my opinion.

If you want to try, open DVDSubEdit. Go File->Open .SUP File. Cancel when it also asks for the IFO. Ignore it if the subs are screwy looking. In the lower right corner go "Run OCR" followed by "Save As SRT". It's very fast and easy and will maybe be good enough for you.

Otherwise, for the 3rd time, convert SUP to IDX/SUB using SubtitleCreator. Then OCR the IDX/SUB using SubResynch or SubRip.

As manono mentioned, SUP files don't have a color information. In GfD you may read the color info from the ifo file (which you should have, as you have created the SUP file from a DVD), or use a special palette file, or edit the colors in GfD itself:

    Hi,
Same old question and same old answer. In SUP files you have indexes (between 0 to 15) to a color palette located in the associated IFO file.

If you want to reuse subtitles demuxed from a DVD and their colors in the original DVD is fine, there is no reason to use SubtitleCreator. Just tell GfD about the correct palette to use (IFO file). If you want to change their colors, the easiest way is to change them with DVDSubEdit after remuxing with GfD.

    Cheers
