So, i've just downloaded some video (divx, wmv,rm).

Each video seems to have the original audio which i want to keep, and a second audio track (awful dance/rave dirge) over the top, which i want to remove.

What software do i need for this? and a guide of how to achieve this would be nice.

    Thanks.

check the videos with either gspot or mediainfo. if the videos have more than one audio track it is possible to remove the extra ones. but, i doubt they do. if you are hearing both at the same time that indicates there is only one and the additional junk has been encoded into the audio track permanently.

Most of the time it seems (espc. with RM anime) the original audio seem's to be in one channel (L) & either a diff. language or "(awful dance/rave dirge)" in the other channel (R).
In which case gspot or mediainfo will not tell you anything helpful.

If you can select the audio balance, move back and forth between Left & Right, and hear the two diff. tracks, you can get rid of the track you don't want with some work.

If they have been mixed together, your out of luck.

What tool would be good for removing additional audio tracks on wmv files?

  5. use gspot or mediainfo to check the wmv and see if it has more than one. if it does, try avidemux or vlc. a video editor like vegas pro would be another choice.
