hello
I am not asking this question here at the very beginning of my problems or before any research on web about the solutions. I have done lots of research on google and have been looking at lots of forums about such things , but after all these efforts I just get headache but not any friendly solutions.
My situation is - I have purchased some video files which is in WMV format from some rental websites, although I purchased the options of "license lasting forever" I finally realized that there is only three licenses that I can download. In other words I could only play the license-protected WMV files in a limited number of computer and once I format my hard drive or if I want to have the video playback in some other computer , i have to consume my precious and very limited licenses (only 3) , however, you know, for many many reasons that one can imagine, I just don't want this to happen, I
need to format my computer, I need to play it on my other computers, I need to play the video when I am offline, I need to keep these precious video that I have purchased...... Here, I had read through the webpage about FairUse4WM, i think it is the most common software that people are talking about, but I had really undergone a very painful time understanding how these software could be used. I don't know how to downgrade my Windows Media Player 11 to the versions that is functionable, I have tried their readme, but finally running into a hard time dealing with it, and finally I got my pc hang up and lots of unfavoured problems with my pc but I still unable to fix it , i still unable to "Free" my license protected WMV files...
At this point, I know some software that could do a recording of my WMV files instead of removing the DRM something ... but I want to use "Lossless" DRM removal software instead of those lossy recording software that could change the original quality of my video.
I hope someone would give me a more friendly answer to how to use FairUse4WM or any other lossless software like that. I would highly appreciate , please help! THank you !
Additional thing I want to mention is
For many "instructions" I see as google results, many people state that if I use FairUse4WM I need to remove all the files in a folder called "DRM" located in "/Document And Settings/All Users/" , but I really can't find any folders called DRM there , I am 100% sure that all hidden folders are shown up but there is just NO that folder. And there are many people talking about IBX, and downgrade of Window media Player to some versions... I am in big headache with those things and I really don't want to use those lossy software...
