    Is it possible to convert an animated gif file to a mpeg, avi' or wmv file? I am trying to change a gif I have to use as my dreamscene in Vista.

    VirtualDub can open a GIF file and save it as AVI.

    thanks but when I got an avi file I found out that I need a mpeg or a wmv file for it to run as a dreamscene

    Frameserve from VirtualDub to your favorite MPEG encoder. Or save as AVI from VirtualDub and convert to MPEG.

    thanks a lot I got it I just put the gif into the mpeg encoder and it did it
