    How come some avi won't encode. I tried to use tmpgenc to encode an avi and it would not show up in the window for preview

  2. You may need to read the guides which tell you what to do if the AVI doesn't work in TMPGEnc. You must download and install the proper codecs.

    Assuming you have the proper codecs installed,

    Open TMPG, on the main gui, go to OPTIONS, ENVIRONMENTAL SETTINGS, Vfapi Tab

    Rt. click on DIRECTSHOW FILTER, and raise it's priority, till the file will open. Should only need to be raised 1 notch.
