Using Vegas Pro 8.0, I have 2 miniDV tapes that I need to transfer (no editing) to DVD. So one tape is full 1hr, the other is probably 15 min of footage. How can/should I render these 2 tapes to fit onto 1 DVD? Usually I use the DVD Arcitect template (MPG2) as render option. What options in the video properties should I change if any so that DVD Arcitect will fit onto a single layer 4.7gb disc?

Use the bit rate calculator. Enter 1hr 15 min.
 https://www.videohelp.com/calc

The calculator reports 7903 Kbps for average bit rate. I'd back off to 7500 kbps ave. to allow for some file size variability. Two pass encoding makes a more predictable file size.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.
