Sort of off the general topic(s) with everyone here, but I figured that if anyone could help, you guys could.
How do I (if possible) defeat the ... NOT MACROVISION, but the CGMS detection on this recorder. It will not allow me to record from specific sources (specifically ones that the macrovision has already been disabled on) HELP!! If anyone has ANY advise, please post a reply! Thanks in advance.

I know what you mean!. Because I also have a DMR-E20.
You can use a TBC ( Time Base Corrector ) between your DVD ( VHS, etc. ) and the DMR in order to remove Macrovision, etc. etc..
Don't use the cheap ( $30.00 or so ) VHS stabilizers. They work, but you'll get horizontal colored lines on your recordings from DVD.
