Troubles with avi to wmv

Well i have an x360 and id love to watch my avi files on my computer on my huge tv so i tryed following the guide to convert avi to wmv using the windows media encoder 9 program. and ive followed the guide step by step but when i get passed the initial wizard guide i get an error saying a needed codec could not be found. so im lost and id LOVE someone to help me thru this. THANKS ALOT

Use Gspot to identify the codecs used in the AVI. The Xbox 360 has Divx support now, doesn't it?

yah ive read that it suports divx/xvid/h.264 but im to NOOB to know how to get any of it running on my xbox lol i cant even get TVersity to work.
