Hi i don't know whats causing this problem, i right click to install and everything seems to install fine, but when i open up virtualDub Mod it isn't showing up for selection.

The only thing thats changed since it last worked was instead of using windows xp x86 version im using windows xp 64bit version.

went through all them steps, and also tried many different versions of lame, and no luck.

but when looking in audio properties / audio codecs / lame shows up but cant be enabled as shown on the picture.

everytime i enable it and go back, its the same again.

  5. did you try re-installing lame 3.98 or using the un-register / register bat in the zip file?

might need to reboot after the install for the codec to show up.

  6. I think you need the 64bit version of the lame codec (if it exists)

  7. 3.98 lists xp64 and vista64 in it's ok os's. i've never run across a separate 64 bit version.

Only guessing, but do you have other MP3 encoders on your system? You may have a conflict. LAME is fairly basic. I've never had any problems installing the ACM version of it for use in VD on several systems.
