    I have 3 instructional DVDs that I want to break down into videos (by chapter) that can be downloaded from a website.

    Since I don't know the type of file I need to convert too I wasn't sure what to search for - so I'd appreciate any direction! Thanks so much!

    You could use the old good dvddecrypter to rip by chapters. Set File Splitting to "By Chapter" in Tools > Settings > IFO Mode and then use IFO Mode to rip.

    You will get a vob file for each chapter that you then can convert to avi xvid using for example winff or convert to wmv using super.
