ok, i got smart ripper 2.41 today and i installed it and everything was working until i wanted to use it. i put my dvd disk into my cd-rom (which i thought may be the problem...do i need a dvd rom to rip the dvd?) and i set the source destination. now, i understand that a little thing that says start or whatever is supposed to pop up on the left, however it does not. and i cannot find my dvd's using that program. so if anyone has any ideas or knows of another program that may work if you dont know please post something here, or more prefferably email me at cokeguy00@aol.com.
Thanks,
Trevor

CD-ROM drives CAN NOT read a DVD; you'll need a DVD drive to read a DVD disk. There is no way around it.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war." -

i crack open my standalone (dvdrom based) and pluggit into its own ide cable
works great although for $20 i might go ahead and pick up pc dvd-rom and save myself from bringing the player back and forth from the entertainment center and desk
btw .. i dont advise this . just saying thats what i do. the power supply is open in the case so accidently touching it is possible..
