Okay I have a number of MKV videos with similar specs to that below:

    Code:
    PlayTime : 1h 17mn
    Bit rate : 540 Kbps
    Encoded date : UTC 2008-09-11 15:04:16
Writing application : mkvmerge v2.2.0 ('Turn It On Again') built on Mar 4 2008 12:58:26
    Writing library : libebml v0.7.7 + libmatroska v0.8.1

    Video #0
    Codec : MPEG-4 AVC
    Codec/Info : MPEG4 ISO advanced profile
    PlayTime : 1h 17mn
    Width : 640 pixels
    Height : 272 pixels
    Display Aspect ratio : 2.35
    Frame rate : 25.000 fps
    Language : English

    Audio #0
    Codec : A_AAC
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Sampling rate : 48 KHz

Now, this is a .mkv container as mentioned and uses Nero AAC audio when it was encoded from AVI -> MKV
When I load into ConvertXtoDVD it does not have an Audio Stream, it only has the video. If I do a conversion the Video ends up playing fine on a standalone DVD Player, but of course no audio

Is there some sort of codec I am missing or something? The videos play fine with Sound in Media Player Classic.
A Solution to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers.

You can try using XVID4PSP as it can go from MKV to PAL DVD or NTSC DVD and has a fairly simple-to-use interface while still managing to be pretty much full featured. Plus it will work with AAC audio.

  3. Both ConvertXtoDVD v2 and v3 work with aac audio in .mkv containers

Do you mean you can't see the audio track in the tree menu when you load it?

There might be something bizarre with your file; e.g. either the way you encoded the audio or the container.

Maybe try replacing the container to .mp4 with YAMB

Or perhaps your install got corrupted, try reinstalling
