DirectShowSource: RenderFile, the filter graph manager won't talk to me ???

Trying to open up a MKV with XVID4PSP and I get an error about DirectShowSource. It says, "DirectShowSource: RenderFile, the filter graph manager won't talk to me

Tried to open the same MKV with MeGui and I get the following:



DirectShowSource: RenderFile, the filter graph manager won't talk to me

HUH ??? What ???

Help !!!

I should point out that I haven't had this problem with other MKV files. This particular MKV is H.264 with AAC-LC audio. Doesn't appear to be all that different from other MKV files I've worked with (although most seem to have ither AC-3 or DTS instead of AAC-LC audio). The MKV file does play back A-OK with Windows Media Player so ... is this a problem with ffdshow or Haali Media Splitter or what ???

P.S.
Should I try to uninstall ffdshow and then reinstall etc. ???

I installed some software including some samsung media software (thinking of getting their iPod Touch like MP3 player so wanted to check the software out). This happened after that so maybe that program did something "bad" LOL

Well I guess I solved the problem (knock on wood) ...

1.) Uninstalled ffdshow which made me reboot
2.) Installed ffdshow
3.) Did not ask me to reboot but did anyways
4.) Now it works as it should

Go figure *shrugs*
