I have spent several days searching for an answer to this. I have found places to change formats & even to check blank DVDs to see mfr. I uploaded to my computer HD video from my camcorder. When I play the video file, it has sound. After converting to DVD format (MPEG 2) on a site (SUPER @) that has the codecs built in, and then burning the DVD, there is no sound.
I thought for sure after playing it on computer (& hearing the sound) it would be on the DVD. I've made a decent number of DVDs from Media Center & camcorder files. MC always burns the sound, camcorder (mini DV always records sound) files sometimes don't & I'm not sure why. Buring software (came on computer) includes Intervideo WinDVD7, Sonic RecordNow7, & if I use Window Movie Maker, it closes & reopens a Windows burning program. There is a Muvee Autoproducer and Roxio, too but I don't think I have used those.
This Q is my 1st & it is why I joined this group.
I'm a vidiot, I guess. TIA
