  1. I have made several attempts to include a Farsi subtitle into mkv file with mkvmerge. However I can’t seem to find a suitable Charset code under Format Specific Options -> Subtitle Charset to display the subtitle correctly. The Arabic Charsets do display the alphabet but not in correct format.

    Any direction is appreciated it.

Use Notepad for converting the Farsi subtitle into a UTF-8 or Unicode file.
MKVmerge should accept that without a problem.

  3. Midzuki Thanks for the response. I save the file both in UTF-8 and Unicode but unfortunately both times the end results was unrecognized characters in MKV. Although the same file would display correctly in the Subtitle creator. The file is in SRT format.

However at the end I found a solution:

I saved the file in the subtitle creator in idx format. During the save process subtitle creator asked me for encoding format and I chose Persian.

I then merged the idx file into mkv container and everything is working file now.

    Thanks
