Hi, I tried searching and found a post that suggested I use DVD Flick instead but it doesnt do VBR.

The problem is this, I have a movie in .VBR format, im trying to convert to DVD so I can burn it but everytime I convert it comes out with no sound. I already tried the Divx codecs, and currently have the K-Lite codecs. Also tried with different Audio settings but doesnt work. Dont know what else to do, what other program can work with .VBR?

What format do you want for output? MPEG for DVD or Divx/Xvid for a Divx player? VBR MP3 audio should work with a Divx or Xvid file. MP3 won't work with a MPEG DVD file. Not sure what you are trying to accomplish here.

Are you sure there is no audio? Drop the file into Gspot and see if it shows any audio. BTW, WinAVI is temperamental at times. I would try a better program. And K-lite is known to cause damage to installed codecs. Not really recommended.

If you want to convert to Divx or Xvid, AutoGK, XVID4PSP or FairUse Wizard are popular. For MPEG DVD, ConvertXToDVD, FAVC, DVD Flick and others should work.

    And welcome to our forums.

First thing is to uninstall the K-Lite codec pack, as they cause more problems than help. I'm not familiar with a .vbr extension. Do you just mean variable bit rate? What format is the file(s) you're trying to convert - .avi? If .avi, try FAVC. I've used it in the past with zero problems, including vbr audio. Instead of K-Lite, install the XviD Codec

    Okay, First things first.
I uninstalled K-Lite codecs. Also, am Installing the xVid codecs u sent me. My final goal is to burn this video to a DVD cd to view it on my DVD player.

I enabled to view the extension of files and found that the video is .RMVB, As this format, I have audio while playing on my realplayer but not on windows media or DivX. When I right click and go to properties it says that the type is Realvideo VBR. Im gonna try FAVC now.

RMVB is one of the harder formats to convert properly. ConvertX usually handles it, but it is payware. I also have installed Real Alternative to enable the file to be opened. If you have RealPlayer, that will work also.

What I have done with RMVB is to use Avisynth to serve it to VirtualDub Mod, then use VDM to convert to Xvid/Divx.

Not really that hard. Install Avisynth, then create a short script like "DirectShowSource("C:\LOTR.RM", fps=29.97, convertfps=true) " in Notepad. save it with a .avs extension and open that just like it's a regular video file. You would replace the "C:\LOTR.RM" with the name and location of your file.

If the script works, VDM will open the file, then you can process it any way you want. This guide may help: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic289872.html

JMO, but I find this one of the best ways to convert RMVB to a AVI type file. Avisynth is a very powerful program, but it works with scripts, not a GUI, so it is a bit intimidating to use at first. But very fast and stable.
