I've been using a Pioneer DVR-111 and I think I've just worn it out. As cheap as they are these days, I should have spare anyway just to be sure.

Can someone please recommened a make/model? I've always been partial to Pioneer/Lite-on/Plextor, etc.

I don't need DL, but need something as good as what this one has been. It's been a great burner.

    Thanks for the help!!

Yup, I picked up a PIONEER 216 while I was in California. If you want PIONEER's website has the PIONEER 115/215 for sale at $34.99 the last time I looked which was about 1 week ago.

Thanks for the replies. I'm now searching for the best deal on the 116. NewEgg is $23.99 plus $8 shipping.

Anyone know if a better price??

  6. You can't beat the egg. If you have any problems with the burner they will swap it out without any hassles. Unless you can find the burner a lot cheaper someplace else, I doubt you can, buy from Newegg.

Thanks. I'm ordering right now. Seems like a great burner at a great price.

Remember when we used to pay a fortune for a burner.......

I think my 1st Plextor was about $300 or more.

The PIONEER 115 drive has better firmware than the 116 at the moment. You could have gotten it from PIONEER's website with 1 cent shipping.
