Cant convert to WMV

is there any easy to use program that will let me convert avi to .wmv? i try to use wme but it keeps giving me this error. im not that much of a noob and i have done alot of research before posting on this forum so please help me.

everytime i try to do something in WME it tells me "The requested video codec is not installed on this system. (0xc00d0bc4)

i have no idea what codec it is talking about. my other computer doesnt seem to have any problems with WME. i want it to get fixed on this computer cuz it is way faster so it'll save me time on encoding. please help me with avi to wmv conversion.

uninstall it and reinstall the latest version.

should install the needed codec.

then the problem may be with the source video. will it play ok in wmp on the computer that won't convert it? does the other computer play and convert this one ok?

Try WinFF - very easy to use and works great for me everytime! if you do have trouble playing it back on your pc, just rename the file extension from WMV2 to WMV and use VLC player to play it back.
