how to add downloaded subtitle into a divx file?? plz help

I have downloaded a .srt file and i want to know how to add in into the dvd-ripped divx file i have downloaded...im a newbie so i want to know how i do step by step...plz help me...

hi,
You have to make sure that your *.srt file has the exact same name as your avi file.
Then you open windows mediaplayer and switch on closed captions.

I'm at work now so i can't exactly tell where to find this but i guess under view menu.

Put the srt file in the same folder as the avi file and start media player.

PS. after switching on closed captioned on you have to restart media player.

thnx...I know how to see the movie with subtitle on the computer, but i want to know how to put the subtitle permanent into the divx file...i want to convert it to a vcd and play it on my standalone dvd...i have tried with virtual dub (subtitle filter) but i cant get text big enough....plz help me...
