AVI File to Mp4 Player

I know there are several similar topics in the MAC section but unfortunately I am on windows but still need help

I bought two no name (Samsung hard drive apparently) Mp4 Players off ebay and before you lynch me bear in mind I didn't have hundreds of dollars to spend on an Ipod

The sample AVI file it comes with works perfectly, however when I try uploading my own AVI files it says 'Error File Unknown' and doesn't play.

I am at a loss at what to do, the software that came with this player is IMV converter (Which is entirely in Chinese), I downloaded the asian language pack hoping it would translate but no such luck. AMV converter which when putting an AVI file in to convert and uploading to the player, still doesn't work.

ANy help would be greatly appreciated, oh and when I click Drive F then properties it comes up as SD3 device in Hardware and Manufacturer Texas Instruments.

Can you post details(video,audio codec, resolution,framerate, etc) from the avi file that work? Use Mediainfo and post all details here.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, the seller told me to format the device so I did and lost the AVi file, I had to recover it
