I found a defect in Vegas Studio 8 project files thumbnail view that led me in the beginning to divide a one-hour production into three parts. Now I know how to work around this Vegas bug. However I have three MPEG-2 files created in Sony Vegas Studio 8.

DVD Architect Studio 4.5 creates a titleset for each imported MPEG-2 file. I need one titleset.

I tried Mpeg2Cut2 and Tsunami MPEG Editor 3 to try appending the files without re-rendering, but they do not properly rewrite the Vegas Mainconcept generated files which contain chapter information. Frames are dropped. I will recreate MPEG-2 output files without the chapter info; but I doubt that this will change the append file results.

Restarting the project, or copy and pasting the events is not a workable solution. The multiple timeline envelopes are too complex.

Is there a way to get Vegas Studio to make one title set from multiple files?

  2. take the 3 titlesets and rename the vobs consecutively. vob1_01, vob1_02, etc. move everything else out of the folder. use vob2mpeg on the vobs to create 1 mpeg-2. to get the timecode to be correct for the entire mpeg you need to re-write the gop timecodes. restream works if you need a tool.

I've had problems with vob2mpeg with commercial DVDs at chapter points; but maybe I'll have better luck with my project. Thanks!
