Arbitrary AC3 Re-Encoding by DVDStyler

In authoring an MPEG-2 file encoded with "AC3 Stereo," DVDStyler has seemingly re-encoded the audio with "AC3 5.1." What sort of consequences does this have in burning and playback?

This change was revealed in DVD Shrink, which shows the original "AC3 Stereo-ch Unspecified" audio maintained under "Compression Settings" when I used a different authoring application on that same MPEG-2 file. Why would DVDStyler appear to change the audio compression setting when that other authoring application left it alone?

Lastly, what would be the consequences if I unchecked the box next to "AC3 5.1-ch Unspecified" (or "AC3 Stereo-ch Unspecified" for that matter) under the "Compression Settings" in DVD Shrink? Thank you.

DVDStyler may assume you are stupid, and does what it wants to do. Or it may only know 5.1 and not 2.0, due to bad programming.

Unchecking a box in DVD Shrink removes the audio from the disc.
