  1. Hi

I have hundreds of clips (in one directory) that each have a associated xml file containing several details related to those clips.
one of those is a cut/trim point location (time position) .

what i need to do is physically trim those clips now based on hte data in the xml file of each clip

Source is DV , result shoudl be trimmed DV clip ( may be overwritten )

I noticed Virtualdub has jobcontrol ( like process all clipps in one directory ) so basically thats what I like to do if I can find out how to read the xml data and let VD trim and save those clips

is this the correct path to look into and if so , is it possible to script somehow the reading and trimming in batch (example apreciated) or are there other solutions available

    Thanks

  2. Hi there

Sorry to bump a post from 2 1/2 years ago but I searched the forum and this is all I came up with.

I'm looking to trim a set of avi's to certain frame ranges. The ranges are currently help in a csv file. So Column A would be filename B start frame and C end frame.

I'm not worries about doing anything else to the file simply being able to batch trim them all. I've looking into VirtualDub, Avidemux and some others but none seem to support batch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Tim

You have to write some kind of script. Neither virtualdub or avidemux can read ranges from a separate file.

Maybe using ffmpeg in a batch file.
