I'm using a Sonicview PVR receiver with dishnetwork. Wen the receiver records a show and i play back the file it allows me to fastforward and rewind the video. But when I convert a file using Xilsoft Video converted ultimate it plays the file but does not allow me to fastforward or rewind the file.

I'm kind of new to th is please let me know if any other information is needed.

File format receiver makes is .TS

    Video
    Mpeg2Video
    544X480
    29.97 framerate

    Audio
    mp2
    160 Bitrate
    48000 sample rate
    channels 2

If there is any general suggestion to allow the Xvid file that i convert to .TS to fastforward/rewind on my PVR receiver please help.

Can you post all details from the ts using mediainfo?

I would try another mpeg2 converter like hcenc, tmpgenc. And then multiplex the mpg to a ts using tsmuxer.

Or you just have to adjust the i-frames mpeg2 settings in xilisoft converter.

Ok sorry for the late response.

Here is the stats for the file i converted. It was a regular Xvid file. Convert it to .TS using TmpegXpress 4.0. I tried to get as similar to the file that the receiver outputs wen i record a show. (The file the receiver outputs is able to rewind and fast forward.)

    Questions....

Do you see anything in both files that would prevent my conversion from not rewinding/fastforwarding?
Wat exactly is the Bframe, pframe etc. Would would allow for fastforward/rewind.

Also the file that the receiver outputs also has a .IDX and a .IFO file that goes with it. Could something with-in these files make it able to rewind/fastforward???

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
