    Hello,

I have some PAL DVDs I converted with the program ConvertXtoDVD. When I go back and extract the files from the 2 new NTSC DVD and insert them into Sony Vegas 8 program to put back as one NTSC disk, the sound is slowed down.

Is there any way to fix this? I don't understand why the sound is slow. I'm using DVD HD Decrypter to extract the files.

    Thanks,
    DJL82

    How much "slow downed"?

I don't know how convertxtodvd converts pal to ntsc but it might slow down the audio when doing a 25fps to 24fps.

Yes, your post makes perfect sense. I am completely unsure why you didn't get a response on the day you originally posted it.

PAL <-> NTSC is not without perils. I can tell you that because the frame rate differs, you also have to convert the audio. I have no idea at all if ConvertXtoDVD is smart enough to do this correctly or not.

Reauthoring from PAL to NTSC or vice-versa is really not worth the effort unless it is a one shot deal. If you think this is something you might need to do again, it's really better to invest in a DVD player that can convert. Philips makes a variety of cheap DVD players that can convert between PAL and NTSC but do note that all the time we are getting more and more reports of Philips players that can't be made region free any more as the hacks no longer work. Before buying, I'd advise making sure you can return the player with no questions asked if you can't make it region free. And look for recent comments (within the past few months is best) under the DVD Players list (look at the columns on the left) that the unlock codes still work.

Anyway, to get back to your problem, if you demux the problem audio, you can use something like BeSweet GUI to try to convert it from 25 fps to 29.97 fps.

    Baldrick,

I would say it's pretty slowed down. I'm not sure how to explain that but it's like slow LOL.

Thanks so much for some advice. I was thinking maybe there is no solution to my problem. I just wanted to ask you is BeSweet a hard program to use?
