I am currently archiving my DVD collection to Xvid format for playback on the Home Theater System.
I am looking for a non-disc driven Xvid player that reads the AVI file from a PC (Ethernet or Wireless), and has HDMI Output with AC3, or even AC3 over TOS or Digital Coax to run directly into my reciever.
I've looked at the D-Link HD media lounge, and it looks like what I want, but I can't get enough information from Dlink or the data sheets to know if this is going to work.
Anyone messed with the HD Media Lounge, or know of something I'd rather buy?
Thanks.

Dlink's devices have not gotten good reviews in the past. The PopcornHour is appears to be very popular:

NO! xvid would be the codec but avi would be the format.. in fact xvid + ac3

As jagabo said .. popcornhour sounds very interesting..Corned beef is now made to a higher standard than at any time in history.
The electronic components of the power part adopted a lot of Rubycons.
