  1. Somebody took some movie from a party last weekend, but he has a PAL camcorder. Now because I live in Canada, I have to capture in Premiere that movie in AVI files, right ? But it will be in PAL format. So after capturing, what I have to do to convert in NTSC for transfering on a regular VCR ?

    Thank you very much

PS : I have a DV500 plus card in my computer, and i use Premiere 6.01

    thanks a lot

in a very general sense you need to do the video and audio separately then re-mux them:

    1) using VDub, load the PAL video and change the framerate to 23.97fps. also load the resize filter to get the horizontal lines down to either 480 or 240, then frameserve to TMPGEnc and encode the video portion to MPEG-2, using the "3:2 pulldown/no flag/no interlace" option.
    2) using some wav editor (sonic foundry?), elongate the audio track/stream to match your new 23.97fps/29.97fps video stream.
    3) re-mux the audio/video streams
