  1. When I select Mpeg layer-3 for my audio compression the highest setting I can use is 56kBit/s. 24,000 Hz, Stereo. What do i have to do to get the higher quality encoding settings?

  2. Somehow, your high quality l3codec.acm (I think that is the name) was replaced by the low quality windows standard version... that is, if you even had the high quality one to begin with.

Try finding the divx 3.11 alpha distribution file. Open it up and just take the acm file out of that and overwrite the one in the windows/system directory (or winnt/system32).

Then, you should have the high quality levels available again.

  4. I'd suggest you get the LAME mp3 codec. It's not only free, but it's A LOT better than the Fraunhofer codec.
