Bought a MacBook Air yesterday and got a free copy of Office with it on disk.

Problem is that I don't have a superdive so can I make an image of the disk on PC and load it up on a USB stick on the mac? I tried making an image with TransMac and got as far as an installation screen but it then said that there was no software to install.

    How?
    Regards,

Bob, does Office qualify as a video app?

Anyway, have you looked at the MBA's "Remote Disk" feature?

If that doesn't do it, pony up the $100 for the superdrive.

  3. can you just copy all the files to a usb stick using a pc and then put the usb stick in the mac and install that way? if not then the original office disc is probably copy protected.

Managed to sort it out: created and iso with Alcohol and imported this with wifi then mounted it.

    Thankyou both for the ideas.
