Ok heres the deal. I downloaded ffmpegx to convert some Rm files to mp4 my ipod and I know you need the binaries to do this. So,
I've been trying without success to install these binaries, but whenever I locate Mencoder, mplayer and mpeg2enc.intel and type in my MacOSX login password (note: I am not the administrator of the mac) this error message comes up:
    The installation was not successful
    ##Password:
(My username) is not in the sudoers file. This incident will be reported.

    What should I do?

    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately for you, ffmpegX wants users to have admin privileges on their Macs.
One of the reasons for this, is that the installer needs to use the sudo command, which requires an admin account.
