  1. Hi all,

I'm trying to mate old audio of a TV show with new video from an AVI. I stretched and trimmed the audio with SoundForge so that the total time is within 1/4 second of the video. I also stripped out the audio from the video AVI with Avidemux. It's still out of sync by milliseconds.

So how do I sync the audio with the video in Vegas 8? The help says to right click on the video and pull down Synchronize, but the options are grayed out.

Got an idea how to get it to work?

In what way is it out ?

Does it start early or late, and remain out of sync by a constant amount ?

Does it start in sync, then drift out over time ? If so, in what direction ?

Does it drift in and out of sync across the duration ?

I haven't used Vegas 8, but syncing in 7 is something I have done quite a few times. How best to do it depends on what type of sync problem you are trying to fix.
