  1. where you can get or buy a copy of DVD MovieAlbumSE? It's the software that's bundled with the retail versions of Panasonic's DVD-RAM optical computer drives. I can't even find the damn drives anymore unless I want OEM which comes without the software. Even Panasonic's support people are clueless. It's like tracking down bigfoot. If anyone has any insight, I'd appreciate it. Thanx!

I changed your topic subject. I shouldn't have to click on a topic to read what it's about.

Although it is still being supported by Panasonic, I think it has been discontinued and superceded by other software. All the dowloads I saw for it are either updaters or warez.

If you could tell us what you need it for, perhaps someone could recommend an alternative.

  5. I've been using it to export the video I record on my DVD-RAM set-top boxes to hard drive. The software seems to be best for doing this, but I'm open to alternatives. Thanx.

MPEG Streamclip (free) works for me, though you may or may not like it. Pay alternatives are TDA and the pay version of ISOBuster. TDA has a free trial. The free version of ISOBuster won't read VRO files.

  7. TDA is probably your best alternative.

I found this on the AVS Forum, and here as well: "The p/n for the cd is VFF0128 and it is considered a replacement part for the Panasonic LF-D321U drive. As suggested above it may work with LG drives." I can't imagine why it didn't turn up on previous Google searches too.

I went to Panasonic's website and looked it up, and the part number was invalid. However when I looked up replacement parts for Panasonic model LF-D321U , a CD was listed under part number VFF0129 for $17.24.

Hopefully the part is what is needed and is still available. The website said customers could call the National Parts Center at 800-833-9626 between the hours of 9am and 7:30pm EST Monday through Friday regarding questions about parts and accessories.

I vote for TMPGEnc DVD Author because although it is payware and not "cheap" it isn't really "expensive" either. Plus it works and works well including built-in editing and DVD authoring so you can make your own menu complete with chapters etc.

Everything you need to re-do it to a DVD-R etc. all in one program. A nice stable program that works rather well
